US and Russia Agree on Shuttle-Mir and ISS Programs

Following the collapse of the Soviet Union, the US and the newly reconstituted Russian Federation agreed on cooperative programs for Shuttle-Mir and the International Space Station. This marked the formal end of the Cold War space competition.
